Caring, excellence, honesty, respect, responsibility – these are not only the core values of YMCA Sudbury, but they are also values learned through the practice of Judo.
Through the programs and services offered at the YMCA, we encourage members of the community to achieve greater happiness and self-esteem, better health and well-being, and to learn to lead more productive and fulfilling lives. The practice of Judo embodies these qualities and it also develops self-discipline and respect for oneself and others – important qualities to instill in our children.
Over the last year we have seen the Judo program grow substantially. This unique program encourages family members of all ages to learn new skills, be active, and spend valuable time together, while teaching participants the importance of structure and discipline and how it applies to their everyday lives.
We are pleased to offer our members the opportunity to experience Judo and all its benefits in a recreational setting, and hope to see this program continue to grow in the future, providing our children not only with an excellent foundation in sport, but also in life.
